My Lover and My Fighter

Whelp it's official. Game on. My first "I don't love you" came in today.  It actually stung less than I thought it would. I read this blog a few weeks prior to giving birth about "10 things that nobody will tell you about having a second child."  One of the items was "you will have moments where you hate your firstborn child."  I thought to myself "No way!" She is too young to understand what's going on, she's going to feel lonely and I am going to do everything I can to shield this little person from the big bad baby that is about to be born. Whelp. Yeah. What's In a Name...

So in real life, things are still about the same.  Every day is a whirl of diapers, rocking, learning to do things with one hand, and every time I sit down or have a moment I can't seem to get myself to do anything actually productive.  It's just kind of a mess up in my head.  I also can't believe that it's been almost a month of this!  Anywho... before I forget, I wanted to write down our reasons for little lady Pritzker's name.  Jewish folks name their children after those who have departed this earth.  Here are the wonderful people who our little girl will never meet.  We'll do our best to teach her about them and more importantly instill their lessons and values. Today was probably the most incredible day of my life.  I became a mama! I knew that there was a baby in there,  but something about this whole experience had me doubting until the very end.  The midwife said that the look of surprise on my face was pretty unreal,  and it was.  The whole thing was unreal. ------ stop reading here if you don't want graphic details.  Yesterday  (Friday) was our second trifecta appointment,  this time with Allison.  That girl knows how to strip membranes. She took care of business. Lilahs activity was low again during the NST, but with the help of m&ms and Yanik playing harmonica,  she woke up and we passed.  I was crampy the whole day afterwards.  We went to the movies and saw "American Hustle" (totally excellent) and then went home and hung out.  Went to sleep around 11.
