3 weeks. 2 kids. 1 mama.

Oh boy!
We're 3 weeks in with Noah Robert Pritzker (that's the official name).  Here are the truths.

Babies are not easy.
They are however, much easier the second time around.
Recovery is also significantly easier the second time around (especially after a quick labor).
Sleep is something you don't truly love until it's no longer available.
Babies are unpredictable little creatures who love to be perfect one day and then the next only feed and nurse and feed and nurse and cry.
It's an unwinnable competition between the two kids as to who gets more time with mommy... except one kid can tell it's unjust and the other can just tell you they're hungry.
You lose the weight quickly... but your skin doesn't get the memo right away.
I lived through the Bris.  That was rough.  He healed in a week, but my guilt might take significantly longer to subside.
Being home on maternity leave is the hardest thing ever if you love to socialize.  I love to socialize.

I miss people.

I love this little boy already.  He's very delicious.

I still have yet to be one on two with my kids.  The parents (namely Yan's mama) are helping with this process, and it's something that I'll have to do eventually... but so far for the 3 hours every evening we've had help with ensuring that each kid is taken care of 100%.  I'm sure it'll be ok, but splitting me down the middle and giving 50% of me to each kid seems really really hard.

I'm a lucky woman to have this much support.  I have a husband who wakes up at night to change diapers and then goes to work with sleep debt.  He rushes home from work and helps feed and do night time routines and read stories.  And all while working at his company which is no easy feat these days.  We have grandparents who help us all of the time.

Single mothers should be regarded as heroes.  Especially if they have more than one kid.  Anywhere that there's a well-adjusted child of a single mother... you know that woman has some super powers and energy stores.  Those ladies should run for office...

Anywho.  Here are my thoughts.
